Nokia E61 Unlocked Smartphone with 3G, Wi-Fi, MP3/Video Player, MiniSD Slot--U.S. Version with Warranty (Silver)

Price: $399.99

Product Description

The E61 is one of Nokia's new business-centric Eseries of devices, and is the first Nokia phone to sport the popular "BlackBerry" form factor that has been so popular in the United States for years. As an Eseries device, the E61 comes complete with remote management capabilities, a SIP compatible Voice Over IP client, as well as support for a large number of push email vendor solutions. The E61 also runs the 3rd edition of the Nokia S60 user interface over top of the Symbian v9.1 operating system, which means that there is a lot of 3rd party application support for the device.

The two most dominating features of the E61 are its large 320x240 pixel display and its equally spacious QWERTY keyboard. The landscape formatted QVGA display is bright and colorful - capable of displaying up to 16 million different color shades. The keyboard makes use of somewhat loose fitting plastic keys that, while seeming a bit cheap at first, are actually quite comfortable to use. Each key is decently large, and there are a number of shift, function, and other keys that allow the user quick access to letters, numbers, symbols, and even foreign characters. Above the keypad are a number of other keys, including two large softkeys, a pair of equally large call send/end keys, a fine joystick, and dedicated menu and messaging app buttons.

As a business oriented device, it is not all that surprising that the Nokia E61 lacks a digital camera of any sort. It does, however, sport a very nice music player application and a miniSD memory card slot. The music player has the ability to sort tracks based on things like artist and album, and allows for the creation of playlists from a PC or directly on the phone. The E61's wonderful web browser is capable of properly rendering just about any site on the internet, thanks to full CSS and javascript support. The browser supports zooming in and out, easy panning around large pages, and a visual back/forward function.

One of the E61's most compelling traits is its support for most of the major wireless networks. For starters, the E61 has fantastic 802.11g WiFi support, for extra fast web browsing and email access. When out of the home or office, EDGE and UMTS 3G data (where available) are also at the user's disposal. In terms of shorter range connections, Bluetooth, USB, and infrared are also available.

The E61's large display and vast capabilities come at a price in terms of power, necessitating the use of a large and somewhat heavy 1500mAh battery in order to obtain its very respectable 8 hours of talk time in our GSM band tests. The E61 can also be used on European UMTS 3G networks as well, but will get slightly less talk time performance when doing so. Audio quality was a bit above average when used in regular calls, but the built-in speakerphone function is one of the best we have ever tested.

While the early E61 that we tested had some quirks with its IMAP email support when configured for automatic download, most corporate users will likely be very pleased with the device's support for the following push email based systems: BlackBerry Connect, GoodLink, Nokia Business Center, Seven Mobile Mail, Seven Always-On Mail, and Visto Mobile. The MMS and SMS systems are top notch, and worked as well as the rest of the messaging applications.

It also includes integrated Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b/g) for accessing open networks at work, at home, and on the road from a variety of wireless hotspots.

It's based on S60 software operating on the Symbian OS, enabling you to personalize the N95 by choosing from a wide choice of compatible applications that can be downloaded--including games, navigation, entertainment, and productivity titles. This version of the Nokia N95 (model N95-4) has an internal 8 GB memory, and it doesn't include a MicroSD expansion slot.

This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider

Phone Features
The innovative 2-way slide concept makes it easy to switch between different modes, going from reading maps to watching a video with a simple slide. A numeric keypad slides out from one end of the device while dedicated media keys slide out from the opposite direction, converting the display into full screen landscape mode.

With the Carl Zeiss optics on the 5-megapixel camera, you can capture print quality photos and DVD-like quality video clips. Carl Zeiss, a world leader in high quality camera lenses, brings an award-winning legacy to the Nokia N95 with state-of-the-art optics for mobile photography and mobile video. The Zeiss name has been associated with cameras from Hasselblad, Rollei, Yashica, Sony, and Nikon.

The Nokia N95 actually has two cameras, a high resolution camera on the back of the device (the main camera in landscape mode) and a lower resolution camera on the front (CIF resolution, 352 x 288). The main camera on the back of the N95 supports an image capture resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. (Note that the low-resolution camera on the front can provide two-way video calling; however, at this time no U.S. carrier offers this service.) You can use both cameras to take still pictures and record videos. Images are saved as JPEG files while videos are recorded in the MPEG-4 file format with the .mp4 file extension, or in the 3GPP file format with the .3gp file extension (sharing quality). Photos and video clips can be enjoyed on a compatible television thanks to the device's TV out feature and support for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology.

With instant access to the Internet, sharing life experiences with the world by uploading pictures and videos directly to popular picture sharing and blogging sites is quick and easy. The N95 includes software for uploading images directly to the Flickr.com website, one of the world's most popular photo communities, which allows you to share pics with friends and family, send photos directly to your blog, or simply organize and store.

Aspiring photographers and film makers don't have to stop at just capturing stunning images and DVD-like quality video (640 x 480 pixels at 30 fps) with the Nokia N95. An integrated photo and video editor allows for music and tags to be added before sending images to friends or uploading them to the web.

The Nokia N95 also offers a large 2.8-inch QVGA 16 million color display, impressive 3D graphics, built-in stereo speakers offering a 3D stereo effect, standard 3.5 mm audio jack, and mini USB for convenient data transfer. Other highlights include 802.11b/g Wi-Fi with WPA2/WPA security, Bluetooth v2.0 connectivity, and 8 GB of internal memory, as well as the following features.

Samsung S860 8.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Pink)

Product Description
Manufacturer Description

Compact and stylish, the Samsung S860 digital camera features a 3x optical zoom, a Samsung SHD lens, and Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) to help minimize the effect of camera shake and produce sharp, clear images, especially in low-light environments. You can also take advantage of advanced features such as Face Detection and Self Portrait mode.

Face Detection technology makes taking pictures of family and friends a snap, as it detects up to nine faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure better composition and image quality. Self Portrait mode is a unique functionality that takes the guessing out of taking a self portrait. By utilizing Face Detection technology, the S860 automatically detects the subject's face, adjusts focus and exposure, and will only allow a photo to be taken if the subject is centered in the frame.

You can also benefit from the camera's Function Description feature. Designed to reduce the intimidation factor of the cameras' various modes, Function Description automatically provides a brief and easy to understand description of each setting when scrolling through the cameras' menus, helping the end-user determine which setting is appropriate for their current shooting scenario. Additionally, with 11 scene modes to choose from, including Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-Up, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow, and Self Portrait, shooters can rest assured that they'll be able to effortlessly adjust the camera.

The S860 also boasts a special effects "E" button, which gives users instant access to a host of creative controls, including options for resizing and rotating images, adjusting brightness, contrast and saturation levels, fixing red eye, and manipulating color such as saving captured images as B&W, Sepia, Red, Blue, Green, and Negative. Users can also shoot video with the S860. Movie mode lets users capture video in one of two resolutions, 320x240 or 640x480, at 30 frames per second in AVI (MJPEG) format. Just as in still-picture mode, the DIS image stabilization system can be engaged to compensate for camera shake and to reduce blur.

For maximum versatility, the S860 can be powered by two, readily available AA alkaline batteries, a considerable benefit for travelers and photographers on the go.
